Saudi Arabia and UAE Lead Acceleration of GCC Railway Network

The Gulf Cooperation Council has prioritized the completion of the unified GCC Railway project to connect member states from Kuwait to Oman via Saudi Arabia and the UAE. The regional rail infrastructure aims to facilitate cross-border freight transit, reduce supply chain vulnerabilities, and boost intra-Gulf economic integration. Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar have intensified high-level diplomatic efforts to prevent military escalations affecting regional shipping routes and critical energy facilities. Senior Gulf leaders have actively engaged international partners to promote regional stability and protect global energy supply chains.

As part of its Vision 2030 diversification strategy, Saudi Arabia has announced new solar and wind energy projects alongside expanded investments in green hydrogen production. The initiatives aim to shift domestic power generation toward clean energy while positioning the Kingdom as a major exporter of sustainable fuel.
