Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a virtual meeting with Chief Ministers today to assess the COVID-19 situation in the country, which has seen an increase in daily infections over the previous two weeks, with Delhi and the National Capital Region serving as the epicenter (NCR).

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the virtual meeting will begin at noon (PMO). Aside from the Prime Minister and senior PMO officials, the meeting is expected to include Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, and officials from their respective ministries.

Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan will make a presentation on the current state of COVID-19, the extent of vaccination, particularly the booster drive, and the trajectory of cases in specific states.

PM Modi has already met with chief ministers and even district magistrates to better grasp the reality on the ground.

Throughout his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ radio program on Sunday, the Prime Minister advised people to be on the lookout for COVID-19 during the festival season. To keep COVID-19 at bay, he urged people to wear masks and wash their hands at regular intervals.
