Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a meeting on Thursday to review various aspects of wheat supply, stock, and exports, and directed officials to take all necessary steps to ensure quality norms and standards so that India can evolve into a reliable source of food grain and other agricultural products.
The critical meeting took place just hours after Modi returned from a three-day trip to Germany, Denmark, and France.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the prime minister chaired a meeting to review various aspects of wheat supply, stock, and exports and was given a detailed presentation on the issues.

According to the statement, he was briefed on the impact of high temperatures in March and April 2022 on crop output, as well as the progress of wheat procurement and export.

In light of the rising demand for Indian agricultural products, the prime minister asked that all efforts be made to establish quality norms and standards, so that India can evolve into a reliable supplier of food grain and other agricultural products, according to the statement.

Modi also directed officials to provide as much assistance to farmers as possible.
The prime minister was also briefed on current market pricing that benefits farmers, according to the PMO.

Principal Secretaries to the Prime Minister, Advisors, Cabinet Secretaries, Secretaries of the Departments of Food and PDS, and Agriculture all attended the meeting.
